A New Company for a Clean Energy Revolution!
UpSouth Energy, LLC was founded in June 2022 out of a desire to ensure that underserved communities were being recognized and utilized in the growing renewable energy industry. The founder, Denise Moore along with her husband, has participated and worked in various capacities to drive positive change and encourage economic development in Central Illinois. It is the combination of those experiences, lessons learned, and relationships built from those activities, that positions UpSouth for success.
Those experiences, lessons learned, and relationships include serving two terms on the Peoria city council, creating a nonprofit economic development organization, and a community-based radio station, all located within an area defined as both an environmental justice and R3 community. UpSouth further has begun working in collaboration to bring both a CEJA Workforce Training Hub and Contractor Incubator Hub to the Peoria community
